crappies

Has anybody been out and been cathing any crappies.

What little fishing I have got in has been trying to find pre-spawn walleyes. The wind has really hampered my desire to get out on the water lately, I guess if I am going to catch anything I just have to put up with it. I would start looking for the crappie in 12-18 FOW right now and in another two or three weeks the crappie should be on their beds, I haven’t even looked for them though. If you don’t mind keep us posted and good luck.

My Dad lives in Pburg and is going to try it tomarrow. He said he has heard of crappies being caught. I will let you know how he does. Thanks for the welcome.

Lookin forward to any info on that, Matt. I got a buddy who’s been talking about it, don’t know if he’ll go or not. I would imagine that they’re deep into the spawn down there right now up in the shallows, since ours here are really making the move that direction.

I am guessing the crappies are spawning now. truck loads of fish mongers were in the local convenience store from Denver this morning.

Some buddies caught a bunch last weekend in 36-42′ over a stump field. They said the water temp was low 40’s and that they found no fish shallow yet! They didn’t even see any in the brushpiles with the StructureScan.

My dad went out yesterday only caught a carp trolling. Everybody he talked to said no fish.

Had a couple friends down there yesterday, and they said they didn’t do too hot either.
