Seems as if the judge did what she felt was right not what she was pressured to do. Hope the city dont burn now.

Have my personal beliefs and I’ll just keep that to myself. Crappy situation no matter how you look at it. I do appreciate the fact that the judge explained it in detail and gave comparisons.

One thing that stuck out to me during the trial is that it was the first time in 26 years of being a cop that she pulled the trigger.

While i was listening to the judge I thought were were gonna just give her time already served. I know you have to be held accountable for your actions but im glad she isnt gonna be locked up forever. I really think it was an accident.

It was really hard to watch her try and apologize to his family. I’m not sure a prison sentence accomplishes anything in this case. Glad it wasn’t any longer.

It’s not like she needs to be locked up so she doesn’t accidentally shoot someone again. The deterrent case doesn’t factor in here either. So future cops will be less likely to have an accidental shooting if she would’ve gotten 5 years? Come on.

In an accidental death like this, it’s not about the time of punishment. Two years away from everything you like to do and everyone you love is not easy. She also has to live with it the rest of her life.

But what about the fleeing felon with an open firearms warrant?
    Too soon?

Yep, totally in agreement of this small fact that is conveniently overlooked. Don’t get yourself into these situations in the first place.

The one that really made me made was the protesters for the Winston Smith dude who the US Marshalls shot in Uptown in that parking garage. He was wanted by the US Marshalls and he shot at them. No one is going to sympathize with your cause when you are holding vigil for thugs.
