I know one thing and that is there was no way in heck my parents would have doled out this kind of money for me to play sports when I was growing up, no matter how good I was.

I had to make the varsity team in 11th grade before my Dad bought me a new glove, which at the time probably cost $25-$30…

And mind you, my parents were mid-upper class at the time. They put me through 5 years of college which was a much better investment than my baseball career…

Yeah hockey is such an expensive sport and requires lots of time investment. I played hockey through HS and would not let my kids play hockey. It wasnt just the cost, but the parents too. Man hockey parents are the worst. My dad was challenged to a fight during a game. When he stood up and said “which door do you want to use?” and the guy saw how big he was the guy turtled and walked away.

Trust me it’s not just hockey parents. It happens in every sport.
Just because parents are idiots does not mean the kids should not be part of a sport.

100 percent. My kid wrestles and plays baseball. I see lots of ass hole parents in both sports.
