Looking for throttle control for my 5hp Nissan kicker, probably mid 90s. Want to be able to control speed from wheel. Hoping there is a product out there someone can point to. It’s your average small tiller motor right now if it matters.

Otherwise the Red Green Show is gonna come out in me and I’ll figure something out, which can have interesting results. tongue

I’m thinking a 6′ long piece of 1-1/2″ PVC pipe ought to be about right,,,,,

I can tell you the throttle controls are pretty much inspired by red green anyway. They use inprovosed linkages with a servo motor.

I put one on my 2001 evinrude and was pretty sure I could rig up the linkage myself if needed.

Might want to look for a used throttle control and see if you can make it fit.

Oh, and FYI, Control King was the only mfg to make a throttle control for my motor. Maybe give him a call and see what he has.

Thanks for the link Gill. Have it bookmarked. After seeing the $240 price tag i feel obligated to attempt this myself first.

Wish I would’ve kept my throttle cables I replaced last winter.

They use improvised linkages with a servo motor.

They’re actually called stepper motors, not servo motors.

Personally, I wouldn’t mess with cables. After about 1/2 season using the handle throttle, I realized it was a pita trying to maintain a constant speed and nearly impossible to do any fine adjustments.
