I have a 16.5’ fiberglass boat (Tuffy Muskie Rampage) and am looking for the smallest / lightest kicker motor I can find to put on it. I would like to reach up to 5 mph max but 4 mph max would still work. I am just not sure how much hp I would need to accomplish this. On the front I have a Minn Kota Terrova 55 lb thrust trolling motor and on the back I have an Evinrude 90 vro.

I would consider selling you my Suzuki 4hp long shaft 2 stroke. Very clean, light because it is a 2 stroke, well engineered because it is a Suzuki. Not 100% sure I want to sell it because it is a great motor but I’m not sure I need a long shaft.
Hard to find any Japanese motor that is a 2 stroke(they made them for a long time but did not export them)

I have a 9.9 evinrude 4 stroke on my 18.5 glass boat. Wide open it will go about 5.5 mph.

A 6 HP would be my recommendation. Any smaller and I think power in the wind will be an issue.

I have a 4hp Murcury 2stroke to sell. I once have this kicker on an Alumicraft 17 Lunker and could easliy go 5+mph…. I know your boat is bigger and heavier. Max HP on that lunker was 55hp…. Let me know if interested…
