So I have spent my weekend on the couch with some bug that has me feeling like I was ran over by a semi several times and I missed the in-laws morel party yesterday. Anyway, I am hoping to get out at my parents next weekend and try my luck at finding some. I leave on our kabetogama trip on the 21st and next weekend will be my only opportunity between now and then to go looking. Anyone have a successful method to store morels for a weeks time so that if I find enough I can save some and hopefully have a fresh walleye and morel lunch that Sunday we are up there?

clean them, cut them in half, lightly pat them dry,but not too dry, roll them in flour and freeze on a cookie sheet.
once frozen, put them in a vacuum sealed bag,the flour also makes them easier to separate.

when ready to eat them, dont thaw them out, roll in your favorite wash, batter and fry.
we have kept them this way for up to a year, there is a very slight taste difference, but in january when you are dreaming of them,it beats nothing at all.

I’ve put them in a dehydrator before and had good luck. Just put them in water to rehydrate.

Do not clean them and they will keep for a week in the fridge.

I have pressure canned them before without the issue that some say there is.

Clean them, pat them good and dry, store in a zip-lock in the fridge. Keep an eye on them, don’t be afraid to get them out and pat them dry again. I’ve kept them pretty fresh for up to a couple weeks time this way.
Much longer, try one of the other methods.
