Keeping fish alive on ice

I keep them in a 5 gallon bucket that I fill with lake water. I bring up the water in my can on a stick (homemade). Sounds too simple but it works great. I don’t have to bend over as far in my old age and I use it to get the last ice shavings out of the hole before I start fishing.
