Anyone tried one on a corded 1/2″ drill? I want to get an 8″ kdrill for my house but cant spring for a new cordless drill right now. Wondering how it would work with a regular drill. I have a honda 2000eu or a 1000w inverter single deep cycle setup.

I’m sure it would work but the KDrill does throw a lot of ice chips. IMO one of the worst augers for in a house.

That’s weird, i have heard people say that they would only want to use them in houses, and the site says that the weird fins are designed to not throw stuff around (although it said they float too).

I want an option lighter and smaller than my gas auger and I don’t want to buy an ion because I eventually need a new drill anyways.

I’d like to here what others have to say too. Don’t just take my word for it. I keep my house pretty clean and dry… probably more so than most. A Milwaukee Fuel set at slow speed still turns at 550 rpms, that’s going to throw some ice.

We used one in SD in a hard side and it never made a mess at all just so you take easy and don’t pull the bit out like you would outside. Then everything went in a bucket and outside.

I’ve used one in a wheelhouse, it was no where near as bad as my Nils/Tanaka…But it did throw a little more than say a Jiffy or Ion…

I’m also not known for keeping my wheelhouse floor dry…so don’t take my word on it…

What I’ve seen they don’t throw many when I’ve been out with my friends. The little we get we kick in the hole and reverse the drill and run them back under the ice. An electric drill should work great.

From my experience this year, the kdrill just “flops” the shavings out…..instead of “flinging” them like a solid flighted drill. Reversing the drill and kicking the mound back in makes for a hole that only needs a minor surface skimming to be clear. I have been very, very pleased with it. An 11 lb auger is a very welcome relief to my shoulders/neck.
