All my Thill bobbers have the copper grommet so the line does not cut into the plastic.

Correct the premium thills have them the cheaper ones do not.

I suppose it’s a different topic for a different thread, but a year or two ago I bought a couple of those slip bobbers with the clip-on stop syestem(comes with a tool and a bunch of little plastic stops) from a local guy at the sports show. I guess they’re also available in a lot of stores too.

Anyone have experience with them? I STILL haven’t tried them out doah

Used them a few years ago. I was hoping they were going to be “the thing”, but fell short for me. Snagged up a lot, hard to put on (but with their new tool it looks easier), had some issue of slipping on braid. I went back to Thill thread knots. I use two and in the summer they still fray. In the winter I hit them with just a tiny-tiny-tiny amount of super glue on the ends after trimming and they last the season. Not casting helps.

my favorite bobber is made by Rods n bobs. I wish you could find them in stores but I’ve only found them online but I believe they’re locally based in MN/WI. They’ve got a metal (brass?) grommet at the top so your line doesn’t cut slits into the top like a plastic bobber does and it also threads the line very easily. Its also high vis, stands tall and is easy to see if you’re hung up or not, rarely tangles, and they’re cheap (half the price of a wobble). Highly recommend these bobbers for anyone that does a lot of slip bobber fishing – they’re better than anything you can buy at any tackle shop around me

I have purchased little glow sticks from that company, at Walmart IIRC.

I don’t really get what the selling point is. For those times you get your whole bobber rig setup and then realize you forgot the stop? lol

I do like being able to take my actual bobber on and off though and have all the Wing-It stuff. I have bobbers, lindy sinkers, and bottom bouncers and love it. For bobber rods it’s mostly just to switch bobber size or take it off so it fits in a rod sock better. The weights are really handy though to switch things around without retying or retying as much.
