Well, the weather has put a bit of a damper on our fishing so far at Kab., but we did sneak out for a short trip near the resort yesterday and this 22″ gal willingly took my max rap. Our short adventure before the next downpour started yielded this fish, another eye lost at the boat and about half a dozen 18-24″ sized pike. Caught another female off the dock ~20″, both were spawned out (I could feel the ‘void’ of the egg sack but didn’t feel any eggs anyway). Water temps were 47 degrees in the bay, haven’t ventured out into the main lake yet.

    Well done sir!

Head to the bays, you will find high 50’s low 60’s water temp. You are spot on with the Max Raps.

    Have fun.

    PooMunk,
    Got there Wednesday
    and fished Wed – Sat
    Just got back yesterday.
Caught a couple 26’s on the main lake
    Fishing was awesome.
The bite was extremely light for us.
using rainbow minnows on a Lindy 3/8 3-5″ leader
    gamakatsu #2 hook
they were tugging at the minnow tails for us.
I figured if they were biting that end
I would put the hook further back
stuck the minnow under the dorsal fin
started get a much better hookup ratio right away
We mostly spot lock and dead stick 3″ off the bottom for them this time around.
in 12 – 14 feet of water near structure and deeper water.
The best fishing was on the quarter moon
    boated 20 fish in 3 hours (1830-2130)
    including 26 2 @24 and a 23

Poo, Awesome bite pitching windward shores Friday and while it lasted Saturday. Switched to Cranks after wind died with some success, then switch to a subtle plastic pitching presentation after that (0 wind) and it was quite good. EYECATCHER, I fished by you late Sat afternoon (Fin=S). Sure was a fun couple of days! All-You-Can Eat fish fry and a couple of cold ones to finish a spectacular outing on a beautiful lake! Goin back Friday for more…

    Hey,
I almost burst out laughing when Al said you can’t catch much with plastics. I saw you coming and the way you were working them, i knew it wasn’t so.
Yeah, Saturday we had to throw back keepers to stay legal.
