K Drill extension

Do people with wheelhouses that use the k drill recommend the extension? Is it needed?

I use the Universal adapter / extension with my 8″KDrill attatched to my Ion powerhead in the fishhouse and outside, works great.

Get the universal auger adapter. It serves the same function and is much cheaper.

Does anyone recommend a good universal auger adapter that will work with my k drill? If I plan on using a clam plate do I have to buy this?

Yes, to attach the K-Drill to a Clam Plate, you will need one of those two options.

I picked up a 8″ drill at the Ice Show to replace my 6″ and needed the adapter to attach it to the plate.

From looking at, running and measuring K-Drill and Clam optional accessories it looks like the K-Drill items are a bit more pricey but are mechanically spot-on size-wise. 2 of the 3 shafts I bought for my Clam-Plate (from Clam) had runout beyond what I deemed acceptable.

K-drill adapter Clam Plate to K-drill is $14.99. It’s the top one in the picture. Looks to be available from Cabelas @ $14.99 with free shipping using the code 7HOLIDAY.
