Been lurking for a bit but figure it’s time to say hi!
Looking forward to chatting with fellow croix junkies waytogo seems most of the guys here fish south of stillwater? I’m more of a high bridge and north guy myself, easier dodging canoes than yachts!!
If you see an 18′ camo’d flat bottom with camo motor and a pedestal seat on the front deck that’s probably me! ( good chance I’ll have a wire hair pooch in the boat too!)

Got any stories about that bridge at night? Some people claim some wacky things happen up there during the night like annoying buzzing rotflol

Sometimes there’s a blue light on the bridge then it just disappears? mrgreen

Never heard any buzzing but when a teen I was buzzed while on the bridge a few times!

That’s a fantastic and scenic stretch that I’ve spent many hours and nights relaxing soaking some baits.
Not a bad stretch to seek out 50# class flats )

    WELCOME

I’ve only fished the Croix once. Was muskie fishing with a friend of mine. I caught the only fish that day, though it’s wasn’t a muskie. It was a feisty little smallie! Fun day!

    Welcome aboard! wave

Yup! 61lb’s. 3 feet of water up stream from a deeper snaggy pool.
I thought it was a good fish but have been tricked before, kept telling my buddy it feels decent,as soon as he hit it with the light he freaked!! “You have a Boone and crocket cat!”
    She’s still out there..

I spend a decent amount of time out on the Croix. Usually north of the loghouse landing up to Taylor’s falls.

I am planning a Croix trip this Saturday, launching at Wm Obrien and heading upstream.. Think I might encounter any white bass ? Catfishing is our main objective

It’s the right time of spring when white bass start going but in the last 10 years I have seen the population absolutely plummet every year.you’ll see the boat loads of “pillage squads”depleting whatever they catch…sad.
I remember when the white bass were a nuisance while fishing now it’s a struggle to catch a few..

…Well I know what the people do, not sure what environment change could have happened to create the crash.? Here on pool 4 there are a lot of boats with 5 to 8 people in them plus a large number of the “pillage squads” fishing from shore. With the large number of “SQUADS” you will see Cooler After Cooler After Cooler the SQUADS come in with. A lot of coolers have so many fish in them that it takes 2 SQUAD members to carry them.!!!! flame flame An most of those fish are on there spawning run this time of the yr. … rrr PS NOT SURE ABOUT THE ENVIORMENT CHANGE.?

Same old thing then. Overharvest. That sucks. I never even consider silvers for table fare.
