A couple of us went ice fishing in a backwater area east of Wabasha. We were showing plenty of fish, and we caught several smaller perch, sunfish, & crappies. Two flip overs near s caught about the same numbers, but most of theirs were in the 8″-9″+ range, with the crappies being even a bit bigger. One old duffer sitting outside, like we were, was catching all sizes almost continuously….about 30% keepers. The sun was out & warm. I was wondering if the dark in the shack always makes a difference like that!?!

The shade can make a difference . I’ve seen it while having the truck out on the ice. One side in the shade is on fire, while the other side in tyhe sun is like the dead sea and the other way around
