Was pretty impressed with the stag 556. Shooting 55gr military scrap, they patterned very well. Solid unit with almost no recoil at all. At 12X in a Athlon Argos btr scope, subject matter never was lost in the field of view.
Put about 500 rounds through. The Caldwell brass catcher sucked donkey dung. Every 5 to 10 rounds it would slide over just enough to interfere with spent shells ejecting and jam up. After about 150 rounds, I resorted to using my cap to catch brass.
Wind was the pain to deal with. Had about 20mph winds blowing and wind drift was way more apparent than I deal with in my 22-250. However, once establishingredients proper elevation at 300is yards, it was super fun to just walk the rounds right over on the rats.
Over, very stout gun with great consistency. Fun to shoot, but also very easy to shoot a lot more.
Fun afternoon with my nephew. Now, time for the 18hour ride home in the new to me truck.
