On October 6th, I caught the two channels…7 and 9 pounds. On October 7th, I caught a 13 and a friend caught a 13-2 pound flat head. All in the same spot, all on shad and all at relatively the same hour (7-8PM). Nothing before and nothing after. The spot is a 13-15 foot hole with plenty of wood structure. Adjacent is a shoreline with rip rap and the other side is a flat of about 7-8 feet. I think they are staying in the wood during the daylight hours and heading out to the flats at night to feed. I also think that the channels moved out when the flatties became active. It’s been a fun week so far. Still looking for that big momma to hit one of my shad. One last thing, the flatties are brutally killing my gills and sunnies that I have for bait, but not eating them. Going to try that spot a couple more times this week and next.
