The Juncos showed up at the feeder this morning here in central Iowa.

I’ve had them here for a couple weeks. They were thick at the cabin three weeks ago.

I noticed them a week or two ago in the Minneapolis area. They’re all over my feeders, now. frown

They eat from hanging feeders? I only remember them eating below the feeders.

Juncos will join other birds on flat feeders, trays, etc but they really prefer feeding on the ground. I have seen them at my tower feeders though on occasion but they really aren’t clingers like chickadees, sparrows and finches. Like any bird, if they’re hungry they eat wherever they can find food.

There were several of them in my back yard this afternoon. A sure sign of the season. Time to dust off the ice fishing gear grin
