I’m thinking I should sauté them instead of using them for bait.

I’ve only been using crawlers on spinners. Crawlers come free from the yard. The kid and I picked enough for the entire season in one evening a few weeks back.

I’d go breaded and deep fried. You can eat anything cooked that way.

Real men suck them down like oysters or you could grill them on the pontoon EP.

    Dang Chinese fireworks!
We lit some off on the Thursday before memorial day and a half hour later the box started on fire so we went and put it out. On Saturday at 10 o’clock we blew some more off and then poured water on all the boxes. At 12:30 I hear somebody yell fire! And I look out in the docks on fire, so threw on some pants and ran down and put the fire out. It’s all good nobody was hurt is a fun story.

Wooden platforms are the worst fire work shooting station lol. Luckily it didn’t burn the new boat.
How much would it cost a guy to rent a spot at your fire side dock and grill

My Father said the live bait in Canada was ridiculously expensive. Its always been more there, but its gone WAY up since just last season. They paid $85 for a pound of “medium” leeches. After that purchased, they said the heck with it and just used gulp leeches instead. Their bite rate went down some, but they still caught plenty of fish. Next year they might abandon the live bait all together up there.

Bait in Canada is off the rails right now. Last year I paid $225 for a flat of crawlers and a pound of large leeches. This year it was about 50% more. They have us over a barrel now because you cannot even bring in crawlers apparently crawlers spread covid because they stopped that last year.

Buddies were just up there all last week. He said your a fool if your paying those big bucks for bait. Cranks jigs and plastics gave them high number fish days over 150 to 200. I guess I wouldn’t even consider a 250 dollar flat of crawlers.
