My buddy Jay W and I hit some water Thursday afternoon and braved the wind and waves and managed to catch a few fish. We got a couple small eyes trolling, and a couple bass, including the fish of the day (in my boat) caught by Jay, a nice LMB (I knew he would enjoy me posting his In-Fisherman pose ).

In another boat, my buddy Jeremy landed this nice wiper he guesses to be 8-9 lbs. Looks like a close guess to me; sure wish he would have measured it! I bet it was an easy MA, a real nice fish. Notice you don’t see ME holding any fish…

    Nice fish, guys!

You and me both, but you know, at least we have white bass. White bass on light gear is a blast.

That is a nice looking Wiper. I bet is was a fun battle.

If you think white bass on light tackle are fun, then you really need to tie into a wiper like this!!
I’ve only had less than 10, I would say, of this size, so I’m still working on getting some bigger ones. Even the 3-4 pounders are a blast.
I’m not sure what he was doing, think he might have been using jigs. Said it was the only one he got.

You must be considerably wetter down there given how green that one shoreline is . Maybe it is all the snow melt?? I am jealous, as it has been a long time since I have caught a wiper, just don’t make it to those wiper lakes. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Ya, real wet over there…where ever that is. Been long enough ago I don’t even remember where that was. The water has really been barreling through the canal this year, so ya, things are a bit green.

I’ve never been much of a wiper fisherman, but do love to catch them when I am able, which isn’t often. I did mention you didn’t see me in any of those pics, right? Hopin to change that soon….

More like I couldn’t get outta bed as early as I wanted after MNF….

We just stayed local and went after some smallies. They aren’t wipers, but that’s ok….we’ll get down there later on.
