I and new Forum member HOCKEYE made a trip over to Plum Creek and Johnsnon’s. Went to PC 1st only for it to start raining as soon as we got to the ramp it started raining! GO FIGURE! Unloaded anyway and headed for a crappie spot out of the rain. Fished from about 7:30am to 10 am without a fish. Had a couple bites that acted like little bluegills. Decided to quit for the day and fired the ol’ Yarcraft up and head in. Almost felt like it was hailing on us on the way back to the ramp, the rain was coming down so hard.

We loaded up and on the way out, we decided to try the inlet at Johnson’s. They started letting water in and the white bass and shad were in there. THICK!!! We ended up catching roughly around 100 nice white bass in a couple hours. Hock kept his 15 and that was all we brought home. We were using spinners, kastmasters, jigs, and crankbaits.

For a pretty nasty day, it turned out to be alright.

Yes, the fishing was SOGGY to say the least, but I did get some great filleting practice in my garage that afternoon while listening to the game. Had some white bass for lunch today, VERY TASTY!
