wow, the storms….

I don’t know how many of you were out in that stuff Monday, but WOW what storms those were, huh? I worked until 10am, but when I headed home I saw quite a few campers headed back east, so it looked to me like people saw the forecast and decided not to mess with it. Good choice. Hope everyone made it out ok.

Fishing has been picking up a little around the area with some nice keeper walleyes being caught here and there. Lots and lots of little ones I’m hearing, also. With the tournament coming up this weekend, I would assume most will be tight lipped.

I have yet to catch a walleye from Johnson this year, but I haven’t really been trying too hard either. Have been catching some nice eyes elsewhere, however. Did catch some crappies and smallies at Johnson this weekend, and I know a lot of crappies were caught in the canal. I haven’t been over there in quite a while, but hope to make it back again soon and see how things are. Hope the storms stay away for a while and this weather straightens out…it’ll do us all some good.

I hear you on the storms, my work vehicle parked in GI had no left windows and looked like it was sandblasted on Tuesday morning.

Man that sucks, sorry to hear that. We had round two last night, and I really think it affected the fishing today.

I went out with my friend Tom, Chad’s FIL. He really stuck it to me on the crappies while tossing jigs; I’d say we had about 30 together in 1 1/2 hrs. While trolling we got another crappie or two, a whitey and the first flathead of the year. No saugers or eyes….yet. They just didn’t seem to be where they should be right now. I’ll blame the nasty weather.
