HA!. That was a fun morning Brian. John is a super guy to work with, absolutely super. He still does outdoor articles for the local paper and asked if I’d show him how to make the baits so what the heck. He and Eric Atherton took the plastics fishing and they caught a mess of nice sunfish with them. I just spoke with John as he called this morning with some info….he hadn’t been ice fishing in a while after his shoulder problems got fixed and he said that once he figured out what he needed to do he was in fish right along with Eric.

    Thanks Brian!

I’ll be taking John sturgeon fishing this late summer. I met him at the Sturgeon Rodeo on pool 4.

I saw the pile of gills they caught…very nice dinner!

Nice article Tom… have always liked the unique colors you make. I remember I posted a picture of a Smallmouth I caught on one of your lizards a couple years back. Good stuff..

I see there was mention of Fishing in Lake Zumbro in the article. Haven’t fished there since I graduated from high school in Rochester. There was a rumor of a near state record bass caught there recently. True? Maybe I need some of your secret colors to find ol’ Walter there this summer ;)

Fry….the lake has some nice bass in it, but I’d question anything of state record size. My largest bass from the Zum was a smallie caught while casting a little open water for crappies between 2 sheets of ice one spring morning.
The bass there have a following but I don’t pay much attention to them.

Nice article. Good for the general public to get a glimpse of what we frequently see here of your artwork in baitform.

Your last batch of jigs in your avatar have been mentioned off forums by more than a couple idoers now! Beautiful.

I think…?, wasn’t that long ago Tom had a pic of him relaxing in an Adirondack chair. That made a statement too.

Cool though to be featured in a newspaper. It did seem like you knew something Tom on some of your posts here. Kudos to you. waytogo

I’m lucky enough to have some of Tom’s plastics, and I’m still shy to put them in the water…. Some art you just don’t want to feed to the fish.
