Jigging Rap Walleye on Lake Sakakawea

    Kraft and I spent the morning catching walleye on bottom bouncers and crawlers, seen in this video:

    then switched things up and started running jigging raps. We were vertical jigging, as well as casting them. Casting covered more ground, and was therefore more successful, but both tactics produced, and both ways are a lot of fun. Lake Sakakawea has been on fire all year, and this day was no different.

    We found pods of fish in the 13-14 fow range, and also pods in the 23 fow range.

    The water temps were in the 70 degree range, as this was mid July. There is a lot of smelt in the system, so sometimes an aggressive tactic is what it takes.
