About 4 weeks ago while fooling around on the lake I luckily drilled some holes on a giant school of whitebass. Luckily the whitebass have held up and stayed in the area, “hence” the walleyes have stayed in the area as well. Best year on the ice since 2008 by far. I haven’t caught very many, but only because I let my son catch all the fish!! Last night we caught 10 legals, 4 fish over 23″.. including a couple over 25″ in the 6-7lb range. We keep a log book in the shack, last night we hit our 20th fish over 23″ this year and our 45th legal. Lot’s of small walleyes mixed in as well. All year classes, from 8 inchers to 26 inchers. I can tell you this.. My 11 year old son Brayden has been having a blast, he’s even caught a couple 24 inchers on a jig rod!! If anyone, and I mean anyone wants in on the action just let me know.
