is and has always been driven by the media. Senationalizing means money and ratings. A perpetual story that tugs at numerous emotions like this is a gold mine.
No! Being a stranger abduction does not make it more special than any other abduction just more interesting to some.

Disagree. Mom Patty has never let up. She single handed pushed the story and never gave up. Still at it now. Every missing person needs a Patty Wetterling. I admire her tenacity.

100% agree. Also the steps she has taken since his abduction, the legislation she has gotten passed she is definitely remarkable IMO. When I met her earlier this year she mentioned that up until recently she still got a weekly briefing with the Sterns County Sheriffs department.
It would be justice served for Patty to get 15 minutes alone with the pig that grabbed Jacob. I cannot imagine what that family has good through and only pray to God none of us ever, ever have to endure it.
Well, I guess were stuck with this ongoing muniplatetion by some for reasons of their own. I hope in time those effected by this horrible incident will heal.
We all have losses, putting a measure on what one is worst is negotiable.
My comments have nothing to do with the family of the child abducted in 1989. To twist these comments is sick and self serving.I have the upmost repect and admiration for the Wetterling family.
Say what you want but the JW abduction and the media coverage but this case changed small town living for many.. I grew up 40 miles from st joe and I am roughly the same age. When JW was abducted, kids freely roaming small towns with no cell phones or curfews came to a screeching halt in rural communities for 100s of miles, and probably impacts the way we monitor our kids today..
Ive never heard of another kid getting snatched off the road by a stranger never to be seen again in rural MN? Is it because it doesnt make the news or it just doesnt happen?
It doesn’t happen, most kidnappings/abductions today, are by another loved one, where you can pretty much assume the child is being cared for and loved. Jacob was not and for anyone to be tired of hearing about it, let me say, you disgust me.
