Nobody started a thread yesterday. frown

I’m a kid at heart and love carving pumpkins. Here’s what we came up with for 2018. My wife was out of town this year, so I ended up carving mine, her’s, and most of our 5-year old’s.

#1 was designed and carved (mostly) by our 7-year old.
#2 was picked by our 5-year old. She scooped the guts and helped me carve a little of it.
#3 and #4 were done by me.

    well done.
I was running short on time so I elected to do an old favorite of mine.
Used my hole saw kit and made a Holey Pumpkin

We do an office contest every year, I believe the 2nd one from the left was an homage to a Johnnie after his 3rd wine cooler. And yes I realize most SJU grads will need to google homage. Go Gusties!

Billy and I didn’t carve pumpkins this year, but we did set them up with the boys for a photo! )

At first we were taking photos in the front yard where there’s a slight hill… Remi kicked one of the pumpkins by accident and it started rolling down the hill, so Remi thought, “Hey! I’ll get that!” and started running after the pumpkin! It was pretty funny and I’m sure if any neighbors were looking they were enjoying a good chuckle.

    Here’s our pumpkins this year.

My wife made the fancy one jester

The one on the left was a custom hand drawn design by B-man, the ghost was a pattern.

Curious what type of knife you all use to get the fine detail?

I’ve got a bag full of a variety of little saws from the carving kits. They’re essentially scroll saw blades with a handle.

I’m not really the artistic type but do one every year with the kids, so I like the timeless classic

And here’s the pie with enough filling left for 2 more pies later on.
