It’s not the heat that gets ya. It’s the humidity.

Dry heat is not bad. The more humid it is the more miserable the same temp is. I was able to squeeze a quart of sweet out of my shirt after working outside for 20 minutes last night. I could drink 2 gallons of water when I used to work outside on days like this. Not pee all day until I had some beers in the evening. Just would sweet it all out. Stay hydrated and safe.

We’ve had one tough stretch about a month ago and few other days here and there, but overall I think we’ve had a lot worse summers than this. Early summer was downright cool.

Father in law (91 years) broke his hip a few weeks ago. Still in pain. Made it out to the living room last night to turn the heat on!!

In winter you can always put on more layers, but summer you can only take off so much before it gets ugly and someone calls the police… flame

I just heard on the news that this is now the 4th driest summer since 1918 in the Twin Cities. Last year was the 2nd driest. The only difference this year compared to last year is that this year the drought is more isolated and last year it was pretty much statewide.

August and March can be erased off the calendar and I wouldn’t mind one bit. I am good with 10 months. i despise heat and humidity but it has been very nice so far. only ran my AC 12 times this summer.

I’d buy that, for sure. Sounds like rain this weekend.

Same. Those two mornings were glorious. It was low 50’s with a crisp NW breeze each morning. Felt more like late September.

Sure didnt last long. Im not ready for fall or winter but a few days in the mid/upper 70’s without a swampy dew point would be nice.

Seems like the seasons the last few years have been. Winter- Spring- last week in May, couple weeks in June {with flooding rains}. Summer- then Fall last week in September, week or 2 into October. I like the heat, humidity sucks.

My ac is on 24/7 until the heat goes on. I never understood why people will sleep uncomfortably to save $40 a month. Plus the ac is electric so it green energy why not run it?

Sometimes in the spring and fall the temperatures at night are cooler than my AC can get to, so I open the windows. But ya, I am not about to shut off my AC in the heat of summer to save a few bucks.

when i shut off my AC its to open windows and get fresh air thru the house. and it looks like the next 7-10 days should be AC free………i hope.

we are around 3/4 inch of rain this morning for sure. dewpoint was still at 70 so a bit humid out but suppose to drop as the day progresses!!!

i shut mine down not to save money but because it is a 40 year old geo thermal pump that does not turn itself on and off with the temp. its either on or off and when running it pumps water into my floor drain so there is always risk that the drain cannot keep up and flood my basement.
its a dinosaur but still works. pretty sure this year is the retirement tour!

Ha! my beverages dont get a chance to get too warm to drink,, cold, warm, they still go down smooth and easy.
Winter?? come on Chuck, you dont have to shovel heat and just thinking about winter made it feel like 75 outside instead of 98.
