It's Rod Buying Time

I’m looking at upgrading a few rods and am wondering what info anyone might have. The first will be a new rigging rod. I’ve read on here that some folks like the Loomis IMX Hotshot (900S-HSR) which is 7.5 footer. Is there any reason, other than the recoil guides, to spend the extra $$$ and go with the walleye series WRR8500S GLX?

Also looking to finally invest in a nice bouncer rod. I typically don’t run anything bigger than 3oz. I’m thinking about trying the 8’2″ Loomis Salmon Series (SAPR982C). Anybody have any experience with one of these? Is it worth spending the money on a bouncer rod or am I falling victim to my gear fetish?

Gear fetish…i do nt see the need to spend 300+ on a rigging or bottom bouncing rod
But I seem to have a gear fetish with jigging rods so to each his own..especially the loomis ones

IMO, a quality rigging rod has merit, bouncer, not so much.

I have a glx hsr9000 I no longer use. Shoot me a PM if interested. This has alconite guides.

I have a set of imx hot shot rods. They are great! worth the money? Probably not.

I was thinking the same about the Bouncing rod… I would typically have a hard time dropping that cash on rods but I’m fortunate enough to get a pretty great deal on them.

The st croix eyecon bounce and troll is a good option. Doubles as a good baitcaster for throwing cranks, too. You can but 2 for the price of the loomis rods.

I love my loomis stuff but I don’t think it’s worth it for bouncing.
