I never thought a form of the common cold would take down the worlds economy.

The common cold doesn’t put healthy 30 year old people into critical condition.

    https://kstp.com/news/third-covid-19-case-confirmed-minnesota-patient-critical-condition/5670158/?cat=1&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_KSTP-TV&fbclid=IwAR3NbMa8-rKV03BSA52N_8oG-t6MYKetUOvETAQLaH6y00FLF3czQ0djt80

i would like to know more about how they are using the term critical condition but whatever it means it cant mean “all is well”. as far as i know this is the first case where a person in their 30s may be at risk of dying. if true this would have me alarmed but i will hold off on panicking until we know more

“glaringly Apparent” does not mean “they” did not have any. You can not take anything that comes from the news with in the first couple days of being reported credible.

I got a Cummings walleye net with 3 position extended handle, full rubber hookless net. 24” deep too. Made in Michigan. Got the last one at Dunham’s Sports in Red Wing $56.99 – haven’t seen anything comparable for less than $120 and none had the deeper all rubber bag.

Extremely interesting and there are a few lessons in there.
In Italy they are deciding which patients would die. That’s what happens when you have Universal Healthcare.
If you smoke or are obese you will pay the price.

Hopefully my 2 asthmatic kids do well thru this. Have a couple nephews that don’t do well either with respiratory stuff.

On a side note I was in the Hudson Walmart yesterday.

    I’m happy to say that
    Bottled water
    Toilet Paper
    Paper towels
    Paper plates
    and
    tampons

    Were all fully stocked.

We may be deciding who lives and who dies here as well. If this thing gets bad there will not be enough hospital beds and ventilators to go around.

Start a separate thread when you get to use this. I’m interested to see how it does with trebles.

I bought a stowmaster last summer and it’s a great net but the small holes make it a real pain to get trebles from cranks out of it.

I was wondering which thread to post this on but the other one certainly spiraled out of control and is now locked. grin

Sorry, I am not sure if Newsweek is considered liberal media trying to destroy the WH, or just trying to make a buck off this. I just thought it was a good read from what appears to be a Dr. from Italy discussing what others here have said – trying to stop hospitals from being overrun with the sick. Also ‘Flattening the curve’ is an interesting topic to google.

Are people serious about being concerned over this or is this thread a hoax with a bunch of snow flakes? If the flu was ever tracked like this story it would be way worse than this. This is all media and yet the world is crashing because of it. WOW!

The issue is if everyone gets it all at the same time. Our health care system will be overwhelmed. The goal is to slow the spread of it so it happens over a longer period of time.

Watch that video posted above with Joe Rogan and a disease specialist (who happens to be a Minnesotan).

The specialists in the field are predicting 96,000,000 cases and 480,000 deaths in the US…….

Even if they whiff on that number and it’s a quarter of that, it’s a scary scenario.

    It’s airborne near infected people.

He eluded that washing your hands is pretty much a feel-good measure.

The disease doubles every four days. People are contagious before symptoms begin. Check back in 4 weeks and look at the numbers.

    We’re around a 1,000 cases right now.

    1,000, 2,000, 4,000, 8,000, 15,000, 30,000, 60,000, 120,000, 250,000, 500,000, 1,000,000, 2,000,000, 4,000,000, 12,000,000…..etc

If you bury your head in the sand I guess you won’t be able to breath it in……

Just gonna throw these numbers out there. These are the most recent numbers I could find courtesy of the World Health Organization and the U.S. CDC. Feel free to look them up yourselves.

COVID 19 (source World Health Organization website)
1st know case sometime in Dec. of 2019 through March 11th
    118,326 confirmed cases GLOBALLY
    4,292 deaths GLOBALLY

    Influenza (source U.S. CDC website)
    From Oct. 1st, 2019 through Feb. 29th, 2020
    34,000,000 – 49,000,000 estimated illnesses *edit* (U.S. cases only)
    20,000 – 52,000 deaths *edit* (U.S. cases only)

Please explain to me why I need to panic about COVID 19. Not about the hysteria, but about the virus itself.

Now WHAT precedence would they have for making those projections? China has MANY times the population that the US has and its also more densely populated in the urban areas, yet the total global infected cases are around 100,000 yet the US is projected to have 96 MILLION?! GTFOH with that crap.

Its not airborne. Stop spreading panic and fear. There is NO evidence and no health expert has said that its simply “floating” around in space. Stop making this about politics too already.
