Who’s going to be first. If I don’t find a long net it might be a while for me. If I do, and I get one to bite in the first dozen casts, it might be too easy this year.

Anyhoo, if it doesn’t have to be in open water I may be able to ice one. Haven’t been on the ice this year at all. Been thinking of hitting Coon or Linwood with tip-ups soon. Usually these lakes are good for a bucket mouth or two. I (I mean we) can fish with 4 lines peace

Whats your new area like down there Mike? Lots of Bass water close by or do you need to travel? Got yourself one of those 350 hp. Bass boats yet?

Definitely doesn’t have to be open water.

Dutch, I fished these 2 small ponds once. Nothing in the bottom one, but got one right away from the top one. These are about a block away, otherwise there isn’t a lot of freshwater around, not even retention ponds.

No boat yet, with the house the wife pushed that down the list. I assure you it will not be a bass boat. Something salt ready with a shallow draft instead.

Iowaboy pup is good and keeping me on my toes.

    Ok tim, you can stay.

It’s not happening today. Yesterday I went wading and at the end locked the key fob in the trunk. Usually it will automatically unlatch and pop up but being in my tackle bag must have insulated it enough. Not only that, but my phone and wallet we’re also in there.

I ended up walking 4 miles home to get the other fob. Now I have 2 massive blisters on my heels. We also stayed up to bring in the new year for the first time in a while. I’m targeting Saturday.

Maybe. I need to see if I can get a long net by then.

Caught about 20 or so this morning. Biggest was maybe 1 1/2#.
Still way better than drilling a hole any day. Pug, after last year I figured you be hard at it.

Well the north pond isn’t the bass utopia I was hoping it would be. It is also too dangerous. Fishing where I thought there was a culvert and saw a big carpenter ant on me. Tried to stomp it off and realized I was standing on a grass over grown cement platform. My stomp missed it and my foot stabbed a couple feet into the grass and much. It could have been bad. Plus my cheap new net doesn’t extend enough to make it safe to fish, I am still standing in brush and tall grass with it.

Hopefully there are bass in the other pond which is cut up to the edge of the bank.

Need to wait for some stable weather first, a cool front blew through yesterday.
