Well, the turkey season ended yesterday and I am choking down tag soup today. I had lots of good encounters with the birds, a couple very close calls, but in the end Mr. Gobbler won the battle. With it getting later in the year I was hoping yesterday I could call one more in acting as a hen the wasn’t quite finished. Although that kind of worked, it didn’t totally. I had 3 jakes come and look at my 2 hen decoys, but the closest they got was 50 yards. That’s a bit too long for the bow on a turkey for me. I guess I will have to wait for the fall season to make turkey breast cordon blue bawling All in all, it was a fun and long season with the bow. I put in way more time this turkey season than I ever have. I learned a few more things, which is always good.

Sticker, if it makes you feel any better, my hunt ended well before it began. Been working 7 days a week – 12 to 16 hours/day and just couldn’t get the time away. I finally got ahead enough that I considered going for an evening. Was 6:30pm on Sunday when I looked at my clock. With a hour drive to home to grab my stuff and another 1/2 hour or better to get back out where I wanted to go….I gave up. Would have been well after 8 pm before I could have set foot in the field. So much for this year

It doesn’t make me feel any better Randy, but it does make me feel a little sorry for you. Work is something you do when the fishing is bad, or no hunting season is open grin

I had a great season, it just didn’t end with a bird, I can live with that waytogo
