After the early morning trolling bite died off we decided to try out the new Rapala Shadow Raps by chasing smallies… On my second ever cast with a Shadow Rap I put this healthy 19″ butterball in the boat, but that’s only half the story.
After casting out I realized that when I had hit the anchor feature to position us just off the tip of a rock hump my Terrova had spun completely around wrapping the cord. Without so much as touching the handle on my reel I grabbed the Terrova remote and started unwinding the cord. Luckily I still had a good hold on my fishing rod because after about 10-15 seconds of the Shadow rap slowly sinking I almost had it ripped out of my hands… Even an admittedly walleye focused fisherman like myself can’t screw that up!
