Issue with my Terrova

I have a 2011 or 2012 Terrova 24 volt 60 inch shaft. It has worked great since, “Minus spot lock.” I bought it new in 2012. Last year I had to replace the remote finally. Well this year it has started acting up. I hardly ever use the foot pedal, I always use the remote. The problem is that it now sometimes over steers. I will move it left or right just a little bit and it will go 90 degrees left or right. It’s super annoying. Also, I upgraded my electronics to a helix 10 and 7. Would those have any effect on the Terrova?

I believe it’s the ipilot gps causing this. Mine was doing the same. It only happened when I didn’t have a clear view of the motor with the remote. I had to step around my console to get a clear view of the trolling motor for it to work right. If my dog got in front of it it didn’t work.

I was told that new trolling motor batteries may solve the problem, but I was skeptical so I never tried it. I think the ipilot is shot.

Biggill, thanks I do usually use it through a windshield and the console. The battery idea is shot cause I replaced my batteries this spring before it started acting up. I wish there was an easy fix or I will be saving up for the ultrex next spring.

I was having a problem with my Terrova and I just called the support line. They were very helpful and friendly. It was just on start up but I would think it makes no diffence that its a older model. It can’t hurt. Good luck on what you do..

I’m having the same issue. New remote battery helped. Going through the learn or relearn seemed to help.
Mine isn’t always when there is something in the way.
