Is there a fix for this? Humminbird Cord

Is there something I can do to fix this? I was thinking electrical tape but that probably won’t do the trick.

The wires are exposed between ducer and cord. Ignore the cat hair… they are the cause of all evil.

5200 sealant put it on in small layers and let it cure for 48hr till the next. I fixed my marcum camera cord with this and haven’t had issues. I’d rough up the hard plastic areas a bit for a better seal.

Get a new one and ditch the cats.

New ducer and someone may have a new 22 mag to show the cats.

Oh yeah that was definitely my plan… just need to convice my 14 year old daughter. My actual thought was to take the cats ice fishing with me since they like to play with all the stuff. I may forget to bring them back.

I will try to fix with the ideas… luckily this is the cord to my least used… third ice flasher so it wasn’t the end of the world.

Use 5200 epoxy. Just like whytie told you. It’s marine epoxy meant just for situations like this. No liquid tape for me

I had something like that happen to my transducer. I tried to repair it. Ended up buying a new one. The repaired one picked up way too much interference and never worked 100% right.

Menards has a clear tri polyurethane sealant in the paint dept next to the tubes of dap and silicone the stuff is amazing. it’s a little messy but worth it, do thin layers like the other guys mentioned till you feel like it’s all good.

3M Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200 (05203) Permanent Bonding and Sealing for Boats and RVs Above and Below the Waterline Waterproof Repair, White, 3 fl oz Tube

This absolutely seals out the water and never gets hard. Don’t get it on ya or anything else where it may be unwanted. I always use it on my boat for anything below the water line.
