Is second weekend worth it?

I wasnt able to attend opener in Wi last weekend but will be there Wed-Sun this week. Do you think it worth spending the money for and out of state license? My options are public land up north but I know my area and can avoid stupid post-opener spots. (think outside of the box). I just wanted some other opinions. Last year I hunted a little on Thanksgiving since I had shot my deer opening weekend and walked right up on a deer I could have easily shot but that is all I saw even after sitting two times.
    I can always ice fish…

I love being in the woods so if this were me, I flip for the license and go enjoy the woods. Call it mind medicine.

Tough to beat quite time in the woods. Squirrels, grouse, tweedy birds, maybe even a deer. Do it!

My best weekend in MN this year came on the THIRD weekend and it’s also public land and it gets hit pretty hard.

Nothing beats the pounding heart of a deer walking! DO IT!

You guys talked me into it. I was even getting excited but now with rain in the forecast its not worth it for 1 possibly 2 days of hunting. I decided to ice fish a little instead. Thanks for the encouragement. I am sad to miss out on deer hunting this year but have certainly made up for it with bird hunting.

Rain? Oh come-on. My buddy shot his biggest buck of his life in the rain. Get a tree umbrella and go out and hammer one!
