To have as many ice fishing rods as my FW has pair of shoes?
Is there some type of chart/graph that can calculate the shoe to rod ratio?

I have no idea how many shoes my wife has.
She has no idea how many ice rods I have.
I belive that is the perfect situation.
Agree with grubson! Her shoes are way more visible in the house to me. If I start leaving my ice rods around the house, there will be no peace……
I have quite a few ice rods and alot of open water rods. There is no FN way i’m close to the GF shoe and boot collection.I would need way more storage and cash to compete with that.
I have 8 summer rods and 4 ice rods that’s enough for me but purses for my wife how many does one need
I don’t think I could ever catch up to my wife’s shoe numbers…..But hey, it’s her money!
Now a days we have what’s called “The Ice Rod Index”.
One half the number of ice rods to FW’s shoes.
More then that and your a man’s man.
Less then one half and well, I can’t say that word here.
I think I have over double rods to her shoes/boots. Does that mean I win? I’m not sure what the calculation is. But I have 50 some od ice rods alone. But her and the kids use them all, as to where she is the only ones to wear her shoes. So maybe she wins.

(…frantically dumping ice rods into my cart as fast as my mouse can click)
Yes, I’m now a man’s man.
My wife doesn’t care what I spend on fishing equipment as long as she gets to spend what she wants on gardening and flowers.
Love all my rods but when the CFM shoes come out it becomes apparent which item holds more power.
Ok, so I actually counted as best I can, with the FW’s help on her stuff.
She has
43 pairs of shoes/boots
23 purses
I have
14 summer rods
39 ice rods
Its close!!! She has no idea of my inventory other than I have to much….
I should add, that I will be taking her shopping after Christmas, and I will encourage her to buy some shoes or a purse or both….
I will then be buying more ice rods.
The GF has maybe 5 pairs of shoes max,and 1 purse that is rarely used. And I have about 40 ice rods, all home-rolled.I tend to make them in pairs,so if one gets smoked I have another to fall back on.
I have
14 summer rods
39 ice rods
39 ice rods? Holy succotash!!
Interesting topic. Question is can you catch anything to eat with shoes?

How on Earth could you need or use 39 ice rods? I seem to get new ones every year, but I give away some to others who are just getting started. I gave a half dozen tip ups and rod combos to my brother and nephew. They had nothing. I would never hang on to that many, that’s hoarding LOL
If I counted all my ice rods I would be in trouble… I’ve built them for close to 20 years. about a dozen 5 gallon pails full of rejects, Prototypes, etc… sitting in the basement, and two Full 8 ft rod hangers on the ceiling of the garage that have a rod slot every 2.5″ haha! The trick was to start building them, then the wife stopped counting and looking!
As far as the shoes and purses, A long as I am not tripping over them, she can have as many as she wants!
I learned that a happy solution is for me to never question when a package shows up for her, and she returns that favor. Everybody happy happy happy…..
This is funny…
My wife and I look at it as, if she uses the shoes who cares how many she has. If I use my fishing stuff, who cares how much I have. We don’t guilt each other over our interests in life.

That’s a good agreement.
My BIL had a boat-related purchase sent to my MIL’s house this summer because he didn’t want his wife to know about it. Of course, the MIL came out to the cabin and said, “Hey, I have that package you had delivered to my house,” in front of his wife.
