Is iLink just a remote?

    Hello all.

I have an iPilot system added to my Minn-Kota V2 and just picked up a Helix7 GN2 SI GPS unit and am wondering about getting the iLink system. I’ve done some reading about the link system but can’t seem to get the true scoop.

Since I have a working iPilot I’d like to keep that. I’ve seen an iLink remote for about 300, is that all I need to link my current iPilot and my Helix7?

    Confused.

    Thanks

    Ipilot is remote controlled

Ipilot link is remote controlled and/or graph controlled but requires a corded connection between graph and trolling motor. Link gives you the ability to follow the contour if you have the correct navigation chip. Would also give you the ability to go to waypoint from your graph, plus a bunch of other stuff.

The major difference between the two is that the ipilot link trolling motor has the plug needed to allow connection with a humminbird graph. The regular ipilot does not have that plug.
