Have gen 1 Humminbird helix 10 si on helm and 9 di on bow with ultera I pilot link. The link disconnects intermittently using trolling motor, then can work fine all day. On plane the graph will show ipilot link disconnect and reconnect. Every connection looks tight. Going nuts.

Software is updated. It looks more like a vibration issue due to how ipiolt disconnects and connects when running on plane. BTW, old software does not just act up if it hasn’t but new software can have bugs.

Mine periodically does this too, haven’t found a fix yet either. 1199 and 788 units on my boat, gen 1 link, all as updated as they can be. But very random, think it did it on one day when I had it at Kab for 8 days earlier this year.

I was able to get it to stop by restarting both graphs that day though.

Yeah I restarted and that worked too among other things. HB is focused on finding a lose connection. I’ll let you know if i solve it. I’m now focused on the connections to the back of the units. But, If restarting works does that imply a connection problem?????

First thing I would try is to eliminate the ethernet switch by hooking the bow unit directly to the IPilot Link. If the problem goes away then it could be an ethernet cable or the ethernet switch. If problem persists then the head unit will need to be replaced on the IPilot Link. I have seen a couple of IPilot Link boards go bad in the head of the motor. If problem continues take it to an ASC to try a new head unit.

Thanks Timothy. That makes sense. What is ASC?

I think ASC is Approved Service Center.

Timothy. I took her out today. Direct connect bow to TM for several hours. Reconnected to network. Had to re/pair TM to handheld. No problems all day. I hope it stays that way.
