Once you go I phone you will never go back.
It takes a bit to get used to how they operate. Once you figure it I am guessing you will like it.
One of the apps I use is GAIA. I like the I phone version way better then the android version.
September 19, 2021 at 3:43 pm #2061792I think there is a navionics app for apple I have heard good things about. If you figure out what it’s called let us know

I switched about 6 months ago and for what was free on Android, they want a subscription on Apple. Stuff like the hourly forecast with wind. Anyone have any weather Apps to recommend?
I switched because of what the did with the music on Android. Overall I am happy.

It’s called Navionics Boating. And on both Android and iPhone.

You’ll find things you love and hate about both. The big knock on apple used to be battery life but that has vastly improved.
If you can, back everything up to your google account. Then you’ll have access to all your old stuff in the new phone.

September 20, 2021 at 9:31 am #2061917I’m not trying to hijack a thread, but what’s the best deal or route for getting a new phone? We are through Verizon. Do they run any deals ever or what makes the most logical sense? I want another iPhone, but it does NOT have to be the latest and greatest with 17 cameras. I just want new, and the new battery life.
I try to run phones for 5-6 years but ultimately the battery life of my iPhone (8 or 9?) is forcing me to change and the charging port being mostly shot.

Last time I was in Verizon (2 years ago) they had the previous generation phone for like $100. For what you want that is probably the direction to go.

Were they brand new? The only reason I ask is for the battery life
DeucesPosts: 5233September 20, 2021 at 9:50 am #2061928Bucky I have Verizon and last time I upgraded I went to best buy to see and handle the phones since I wasn’t that impressed with Verizons options, then bought it there. You save some money upfront if it’s not financed thru the carrier, but the carriers I’m sure at some point have good deals too.
Probably just depends on timing.
September 20, 2021 at 11:06 am #2061946Did you then take the purchased phone to Verizon to swap everything over for you?
RipjiggenPosts: 11564September 20, 2021 at 11:11 am #2061949You should be backing everything up on some kind of cloud account. Simple as turning it in and logging into that account. They don’t transfer things from phone to phone anymore.

I agree….you need multiple backups. Mine are through google and my apple account.
My experience is they will transfer. T Mobile transferred and set mine up since I went into the store. However, the process is super simple to do yourself.

Watch for deals at Best Buy or Target. My last phone purchased at Target came with a $100 gift card. Phone was priced the same between Best Buy, Target, and Verizon. No hassle. Like others mentioned, make sure you have everything backed up in the cloud. You won’t get your apps downloaded switching to to an I-Phone but photos and contacts should come in (Make sure you backed up on you cell providers cloud). Take screenshots of your current phone layout and app screens. It helps organizing your new phone and let’s you know which apps you had.

I got an iPhone SE last year for like $300-400 from Best Buy. It’s not the latest and greatest but I wasn’t interested in spending a grand on one either.
I made the switch from Droid to iPhone, and it’s a little annoying at first until you get the lay of the land. No back button took some getting used to.
