Who’s getting ready to get out in the woods this weekend? My son and I are ready to enjoy some time in the woods this weekend. Looks like the weather will be in out favor. Good luck to all and I wish everyone a safe and successful hunt. I know we are ready to put in some all day sits.
I’ll be out. Made a change this year and only bought 2 doe tags and no any sex tag. Gonna try and get my buck during the late muzzleloader season. You’re right about one thing Tony… weather looks WAY better than last year.

Back to the same area or different for the gun season??? I miss this weekend as my friend who let’s me stay with him to duck hunt would be with us during this weekend prepping for his hunt in Winneshiek County.

Yes I will be in the same area , I will be hunting Allamakee county. I grew up hunting those river bluffs it’s in my blood .
Good luck you guys. I was going pheasant hunting in Iowa this weekend until I realized it was gun opener.
I will be out, first trip to the Hawkeye state, got my MN, and SD tags punched and looking for the hat trick in Iowa. To say I am excited is an understatement. – QB

I didn’t bowhunt this year but my brother did. He was saying how much more pleasant 1st season shotgun will be this year compared to the second week of November bowhunting was during the rut. I know I’m excited too Tony. I’ll be sitting in a spot where I can watch a lot of area around me so I’ll be able to see what the deer and hunters are doing. Should be fun… like watching a football game.

We did pretty well. Filled 5/7 tags. We were meat hunting for does primarily. Didn’t see much for mature bucks but thats expected in the place that we hunt. Weather was nice and it was nice to have a little snow for tracking etc
I never fired a shot , but had a great hunt saw lots of deer just not what I was looking for. was great to get out and enjoy time in the woods with my son and friends. this was still a successful hunt :). Anytime in the outdoors with family and friends is a success in my book!
I just got home. Shot a 151 2/8 11 point the second evening and a doe on Tuesday evening. Happy happy happy Pics to come
