Ion G2 composite bit vs the Turbo bit.

Looking to see what the difference is between the two composite bits from Ion. I am guessing the turbo came out with the Alpha. I will be attaching either of them to a drill, so I am not interested in the power head it self. Anyone have experience with both bits? I can get a used G2 for a decent price but curious if there is significant improvements between the two bits.

    Thanks.

I have the G2 composite shaft and it uses the straight through blades(mora style). The Alpha composite shafts uses a different style of blades (turbo). Both composites but different style of blades, whether the blades are interchangeable? I don’t know.
My guess is Turbo blades are more aggressively pitched, hence why they cut faster?

I had a G2, which I believe was more of a chipper blade and would tend to catch on the bottom of the ice. The Alpha bit is night and day difference. I can’t tell I break through with the Alpha bit until I see water.
