I know there is a Nils blade sharpening go-to guy out there.

Does this person exist for the Ion Auger?

I sharpened my own with a diamond hone sharpening set I got off Amazon.

Worked great for my all my 5 times out this season with over 300 holes cut through 10″ ice.

I have the same thing going on only it’s my buddy that does the sharpening for me. I have 2 sets of blades and when one st gets dull I swap them out and he sharpens them. Works pretty slick. I want to invest in a sharpening kit like he has and do it myself. He says they only take like 10 min to sharpen so i think that’s worth it.

This is where I get my blades sharpened. Most of the hardware stores in my area also send there stuff here. I haven’t taken my ION blades here yet but its on my to-do list. There also Friendly.

Careful, Ion blades are hollow ground. My Work Sharp with the guide off works very well, and it’s very easy to see and control what you’re doing.

Thanks for that info Boss Hawg. The amount of material I took off was very minimal. It’s done wonders for the way these blades shave.

I don’t grind like a madman, just even off the bumpy edge and smooth the same edge off the bottom of the blade. The fact it’s a hand-held sharpening set helps with the control.
