I bought my ION auger the first year they came out. Still using original battery. Has anybody had to replace their battery? Has anyone had to buy a second one to make it through a day?

I got mine the second year i saw them so maybe 3rd or 4th year they were out . i have not had to buy another but was considering buying a ion x 5 ah battery just for insurance but in PA the season is so short it is hard to justify the 2 bill for a spare

I’m on season 3 with no sign of wear. I assume I’ll need another battery in the not so distant future but for now I’ll just keep drilling.

Here’s a tip for long storage of your battery… Never store at 100% charge. Try 60% otherwise you will shorten your battery life dramatically

I’ve heard that but any suggestions for running them down? For example, I have a couple MKE Fuel batteries and I hardly use them enough durin the summer to ever get them down even 1 bar and then they sit for months. I’m not going to sit on my couch running them in my drill to drain the batteries…my wife already thinks I’m crazy. jester

Buy the M18 flashlight and leave her on for a few hours. This still takes time but since they’re led they’ll last forever. Or buy the fan, it will go much faster.

This was a topic on if anybody has had to replace an ION battery yet.
I am still using my original and was curious about others. Don’t care about other cordless drills.

Sorry, but since the subject was longevity of the Ion battery and its a lithium ion, the aspect of storage conditions was introduced but with regards to a different brand of lithium ion battery… I for one am glad a minor hyjack occured and am now better informed with storage procedures for not just my M18 batteries, but my 2 Ion batteries. Sorry for being part of the distraction.
