So I go to the Cabela’s site for ice fishing and looked up replacement Ion auger blades. I have an Ion X, love it, especially for re-drilling house holes. The only thing I could come up with was the two models of Ion batteries – could not find Ion augers….did they stop listing/selling the Ion brand? I was planning a road trip to the Rogers store tomorrow – hopefully they still stock the Ion products.

Good luck. I’d avoid cabelas and stop in at Thorne brothers or capra’s. Both will either have them or will order the correct blades for you. Both will also have a better selection of what you want, unless of course you’re in the market for UA clothing.

The blades for Ion augers can be hard to find. I have 2 extra sets.

And Cabelas won’t list items on its website if they don’t have any in stock.

Yup they are frequently back ordered all around. I’d call around first

That style of blade is relatively easy to put a decent edge on yourself at home.

Clamp it in a vise and use a paddle style sandpaper wheel (flap wheel) in a Dremel waytogo

Just lightly work the beveled side, don’t touch the bottom edge (flat part) unless you over-do the top and roll a burr over.

But I just did a quick search, new blades seem readily available all over online if you want them. Give or take $40.

I believe Cabelas no longer carries ION or Eskimo (both owned by the same company). Dont see anything on their website other than that battery which could be leftovers from last year?

An employee at my local Cabela’s in East Grand Forks, MN told me that Eskimo and BassPro/Cabelas had some kind of a falling out after Bass Pro got involved and Cabela’s will no longer carry Eskimo products. Disappointing.

Can confirm. I talked to an Ion rep at the Fargo Scheels Ice Fest and he said Ardisam and Cabelas/BP couldn’t make a deal.
