Interference between locators while ice fishing

Having trouble with our locators interfering with each other. I have a hummingbird helix ice and others are using regular flashers. If we are within 20 feet of each other they all go haywire. Turned my gain way down and IR way up but doesn’t do much

Everyone need to change their IR settings till you find the sweet spot.

If less than 20 feet, I suggest dropping one of these on the ice next to them and quietly say “oopppsss, I forgot to pull the pin “. By the time you pick it up they’ll be outside of interference range

The IR button seems to be a waste from what I have seen. We have had great success running a FL8, ice 45 and FL28 simultaneously near each other.

You can also play with frequencies (cone angles)

Everyone need to change their IR settings till you find the sweet spot.

    One at a time.
One person changes their IR until their interference is gone. Then the next person changes theirs, etc. Wait a few seconds after changing.
If the first person cycles through all their IR settings without success, one of the other anglers changes their IR one setting and the first angler cycles through theirs again. Kind of tedious but you should be able to get them clear enough to see what’s going on.

I haven’t had a problem. My son runs a Vex 8, brother a Helix, and I run a Vex 28. Very little interference. Couple IR taps and GTG!
