Insulated/Waterproof bibs – with stretch

Am in the market for insulated bibs for Fall fishing in the boat. Could be Gore-Tex or someone else’s version of waterproof. Big thing for me is stretch so I can move, crouch, launch, etc. without binding. Don’t really want to spend a lot but willing to shell out some for decent quality.

I’ve had Cabelas Guidewear bibs and they are warm/dry, but mobility is not very good ~

I asked a similar question this past spring about new rain gear. I was specifically looking at the Simms gear and got a lot of positive responses about it.

The stuff I was looking at wasn’t insulated and I think the bottom half was pants, not bibs. So may not help you much.

I never did buy a new set but I may be doing it this winter and there was enough good reviews and comments on the Simms to convince me.

I like the looks of the insulated Challenger bibs, but can’t see specs that say they stretch. The non-Insulated say they do. Thinking maybe someone in town has them in stock to see in person..

I don’t like the insulated rain gear….gets too hot even in cold conditions. I’d opt for the non insulated with stretch and layer below it.

I’m also a big fans of pants versus bibs. A lot more mobility. I probably use my pants 90% of the time versus my bibs just because of ease of use.

I prefer non insulated bibs. I will layer under them. I can not stand insulated rain gear. Go non insulated and wear a layer underneath

What bearcat said. Do the same thing with ice fishing bibs. Much more comfortable and as long as the bibs/pants are loose enough to allow layering.

I have the Simms insulated suit. They do not stretch. The sizes run a little big as well. It seems to be made well. Just one year with it and no issues

I’ve never had very good pants but I thought my current bibs were better for being able to movement like crouching because they are looser and can slide up and down since they are just hanging from shoulders.
