Insulated vs Uninsulated

I thought I got a steal of a deal on a flip up before last season. It was uninsulated but I was saving quite a bit of $$ so i didnt care. I liked that it was a little lighter. I bought a rockin propane heater so I didnt think the loss of heat would matter either. Thought it’d still be worth it..

Wrong. Go with the insulated. The condensation sucks. How cheap it feels sucks. Wanting to get rid of a shack I just purchased last fall sucks. I can now speak from experience!

it depends, are you wanting to be super mobile, agressively chasing fish on a big or small lake? comfortable staying in one spot, get cold easy-ever,Plan on using a heater? I never get freezing cold in my uninsulted shack in 20 mph wind and 0 degree.can turn on heater if use don’t dress in layers. so really it depends on your strength to pull extra weight, age and desire to be mobile.

So I am up in minnesota near St cloud. I’ve fished small lakes around me but venture down to minnetonka from time to time. I’m not afraid of work, I’m in good health. Plus putting in some sweat equity to get on the fish makes the beers taste better

Thanks for all the info guys. I was leaning towards insulated but wanted to verify what I thought initially. There’s not enough info out there on pros and cons for the two. Hopefully your insight helps others down the road as well.

THis is interesting as no one has questioned the size or models being looked at.

Also what type of fishing, with kids no kids.

I have fished in both insulated and uninsulated, and depending on where you are at I would say insulation is a huge deal.

But having said that I would wonder what size you are looking at, what is your budget, ect.

Guessing you will be quite happy with your deal on that! I was sitting in one the other day at fleet farm, and sure was nice vs my older and cheep Frabil.
