Exactly my thought. I keep looking for something, maybe a clue I’m missing?

I use nothing! For me, frying in cracker crumbs that I seasoned is all I need. I can eat em with tartar sauce but don’t need it and prefer without. My wife still likes tartar sauce with hers.

I don’t usually get restaurant fish, but when I do, the breading isn’t usually too flavorful so I do use sauce on that.

Looks like a nice pile of perch!

Delicious little things! I like top the tater but I have to have homemade tartar sauce. 10” perch, very nice eaters.

I like to mix it up so I am willing to try it. My son loves my home-made tarter sauce so I always have to make him some of that.

    Base
    – Real mayo
    – Yellow Mustard
    – Chopped onions
    – Chopped dill pickles
    – Garlic powder
    – Dill
    – Smoked paprika

Take a taste and add whatever other spice you are in the mood for.

Don’t touch the stuff. I have always thought tartar sauce was for people who don’t like the taste of fish. Kind of like walleye devil

    My friend used:
    Mayo
    Chopped pickles
    Onions

    Best I’ve ever had.

That’s why I only use it on duck.

I love top a tator on my salmon fillet before I grill it, cooks in real nice. Never tried it on fried fish though…

I don’t use anything other than Chef Roberts, but if you don’t care for tartar sauce, give Miracle Whip mixed with Thousand Island a try.
