Not finding much online on how to pull this off. I have a few ideas but they end up with the side edge of the wood showing and/or cutting an additional small piece to fit in the corner. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I just did some vinyl and carpet in my boat and the inside corners I had were carpet spots… On those I cut a rectangular section of carpet the width of board and stapled and glued them into the corner. Cut the material you are wrapping at an angle splitting the 90 degrees into 2 45s. It worked out ok and the second and third ones I did turned out much better than the first. Fortunately I had these in spots where I was going to put a hinge and cover them up anyway so I wasn’t so concerned about look.

Take a scrap piece of wood and cut a corner like the one you are trying to wrap and use some of your scraps to practice. That was what I had the best success in doing with those odd pieces.

I think I will try a dry run. I think I may have a solution. If I cut in at a 45 but stop short of the thickness of the board – that may fold down. Hard to explain without a picture.

So if I’m understanding the post correctly you’re wanting vinyl flooring on the sides of the boat as well? If they are straight and square I may try cutting the vinyl straight up the corner and finishing off the corner with a piece of aluminum angle riveted in place.

    Pics would help immensely.
