Inside a Marcum LX-5 Ice Transducer

    Got bored so I cut open my roached LX-5 iceducer (served me well for at least 6 yrs. of hole hopping died this year). I was in search of the magic crystal people talk about. This is what it looked like. You can see some metal balls at the top that look like lead shot and then a rectangular metal item a bit above the bottom. This is a double cone transducer so there may be two crystals in there? Anybody able to elaborate?

    That’s cool. Never thought of cutting one up before. I know nothing of the crystal.
