Inlets and outlets of lakes

    I have been thinking about trying the inlet and outlet of a lake near me and was wondering about your experience on that. The lake is very clear with visibility at around 13′. It has a max depth of 70′ with many sharp breaks into deep water. The inlet is from another lake that is stained and the outlet is the beginning of a river. Both ends are shallow at a few feet into about 6′. Any stories or your thoughts are appreciated.

    Inlets = early ice

    Outlets = late ice / ice out.

    Keep in mind that you don’t need to be right in the shallow outlet in late ice. Look for staging areas NEAR the outlets

    Thanks Randy for the advice, I had no idea what to do. I will try the outlet at the end of ice season.

    Ive guided for years on chain of lakes. You see the patterns develop on the staging areas and that is key for finding numbers
